At Lagoon, the experience begins before the first ride. At this pivotal crossroads in the park, three interconnected environments turn the transition into an experience of its own. Repurposed carousel horses, peacock-inspired details, and thoughtfully crafted spaces celebrate the park's legacy while building anticipation for what's ahead. Because a day at Lagoon isn't just about where you go or what you do. It's about the wide eyes, spontaneous laughter, and shared moments that become family memories for generations.
Lagoon: Carousel Candy, Peacock Parlour & Atrium
Located at a pivotal crossroads within the park, the building anchors one of Lagoon's most important moments: the transition from arrival into the wider grounds.
The project comprises three interconnected environments: Carousel Candy, a confectionery destination; Peacock Parlour, an ice cream and gelato destination; and a central, double-height atrium that connects the two while guiding guests toward a future second-level venue.
From the outset, Lagoon, STRUCK, and WOW worked in close collaboration, shaping every element collectively and simultaneously. Brand, space, materials, details, and experience were developed as one continuous conversation.
Carousel Candy incorporates repurposed vintage carousel horses beneath a custom canopy ceiling, complemented by bespoke millwork and tailored display systems. Peacock Parlour draws inspiration from the park's roaming peacocks, featuring a stained-glass focal menu wall, sculpted metal feathers, custom seating, and a terrazzo floor that subtly organizes guest movement.
For generations, Lagoon has held a special place in the shared memories of Utah families: summers, first dates, and childhood traditions woven into its paths. This project was created to honor that legacy with unapologetic, full-tilt joy. It's not about ice cream or candy. It's not about display. It's about the electricity of arrival, the widening of eyes, the spontaneous laughter, and the unmistakable, ear-to-ear smiles that define a day at Lagoon.
